a guy talks on the phone with a line of people near by
Nick Maestas talks on the phone as the line for Muchachos grows in the Railyard in Lincoln on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020. Maestas said this event was not only to fundraise but to raise awareness for street food. "Street food is where we started in this, to serve food out of a food truck warms my heart... we're super thankful for everyone that took their time and their money that came out."

Two Lincoln businesses came together Nov. 5 to raise money for local charities.

Muchachos owner Nick Maestas and Rutabagas owner Sarah Brown hosted a food-truck showdown to raise money for local charities. Muchachos raised money for El Centro de Las Americas and Rutabeggas raised money for the Food Bank. Brown’s friend, Dr. Meghan Davidson with Love Warrior Healing, decided to match dollar for dollar whoever sold the most burritos throughout the night.
