A senior sendoff tradition becomes impromptu pandemic goodbye

What started as a tradition in 2012 gained a new meaning Friday.

Brady Klein, a junior computer science major sent an email to Kauffman residents Thursday night to gather at the patio and dance to a crowd of spectators. While originally a send off for the seniors, the dancers hoped their moves would raise student’s moods after the University of Nebraska-Lincoln cancelled in-person classes in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

As they danced, a crowd gathered on the green space in front of the Union. As they ended their dance, students called for an encore.
