University of Nebraska-Lincoln students celebrated at a #SaveUNLDance event after they learned that the UNL Dance program will not be cut.

In September, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln announced a new budget that cut several programs including the dance program. Supporters of the program mobilized through a social media campaign and online petition, resulting in a shift in endowments and a fundraising commitment from a new Friends of Dance group. The program received enough support from donations to prevent the closure of the program.

At the #SaveUNLDance celebration, UNL dance students performed in front of the capitol and talked about the positive impact of the dance program.
