Shaye Koester is a senior animal science major at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is also the host of Casual Cattle Conversations, a podcast she started through the Engler Angribusiness Entrepreneurship Program. Over two and a half years, Koester has grown the show from a passion project to a blossoming business. Coming from a rural background, Koester said farmers and ranchers are a market that she cares about reaching and delivering quality content. Engler Agribusiness Entrepreneurship Program Director Thomas Field said Koester has shown great promise in growing the podcast on her own and is a great example for future Engler students who want to get into podcasting. Koester said she has learned many valuable lessons, from how to seek out advertisers to maintaining her original goals while growing her passion into a business.
