The University of Nebraska-Lincoln will host the Philip Perry Photo Challenge March 12-14. This year’s event will be virtual, and all judging components will be conducted over Zoom.
Twenty UNL students will compete for a $10,000 scholarship. Over the course of three days, these 20 students will be put on strict deadlines and see what it is like to be a professional photographer. Sabrina Sommer, the 2019 grand prize winner, talks about her experiences in the competition and how she prepared for the contest.
Ryan Soderlin, one of the this year’s judges, also talks about the criteria that the judges are looking for. Allen Schaben, a staff photographer at the LA Times, will also be apart of the judges’ table. Schaben is excited to see what students create during the 2021 Perry Photo Challenge.
