Four thousand visitors arrived in Falls City on Saturday, June 19 for the annual Hot Air Balloon Festival. 

Ten local vendors sold a variety of food from wood-fired pizza, to barbeque and smoothies at the event. Before takeoff, children enjoyed face painting and carnival games while adults were entertained by the Baub Eis Band. 

At 7 p.m., pilots and their crews unrolled their balloons and prepared to fly. The crowd cheered when the ten hot air balloons got off the ground and flew into the sunset 

Visitors were unable to fly in a balloon but could ride in a tethered one to experience flying a few feet in the air.
