Emotions were high at Pinnacle Bank Arena this weekend as 24 high school teams from across the state competed for state basketball championships.
Millard North High School defended its boys Class A championship by defeating Bellevue West High School 67-57.
“We just have some tough kids who really love each other,” said Head Coach Tim Cannon.
Fremont High School defeated Lincoln Southwest High School, 37-32, to become the girls Class A champion for the first time in school history.
“I knew this was it,” said Fremont Center Macy Bryant. “In the huddle, we talked about there is no practice tomorrow, no game tomorrow, there is nothing tomorrow. It’s tonight. It’s now or never.”
