Four-Year Season Recap: As a freshman, Ashley first started her college career as a broadcasting major. Her dream was to work in sports broadcasting as a video producer. During her sophomore year, she got an internship with HuskerVision, which is the production arm of the Athletic Department, working side by side with all varsity sports. The College of Journalism and Mass Communications came out with a new major going into her junior year. She decided to switch to that new major which further switched her interest in what she wanted to do. In the spring of her junior year, she got another internship, with the Nebraska Sports Council, a nonprofit organization that puts on events for amateur athletes of all ages and abilities and promoting healthy and active lifestyle choices. This internship lasted throughout the summer and ended at the end of July. The staff then asked her to stay on for the fall to help out with a couple of other events they put on. Now a senior, graduating in December, Ashley hopes to get a job after graduation in sports event management.
