The Grand Island Islanders, Omaha Westside Warriors, Gretna Dragons, and the Creighton Prep Junior Jays survived to move on to the State A Semifinals

The NSAA Class A State Football tournament is coming down to the wire as only four teams remain in the chase for the title.
Here is a preview of the final four teams left in the playoffs along with their 2nd round results and matchups in the semifinals.

No. 1 Omaha Westside Warriors

The No.1 Seeded Warriors hosted the No. 8 seeded Lincoln Southwest Silverhawks last Friday, Nov. 4. The Warriors fought back from a 7-point deficit at half-time by outscoring the Silverhawks 28-7 in the 2nd half, winning with a final score of 42-28.
Junior quarterback Anthony Rezac led the Warriors’ offense with 119 yards on the ground and 85 yards through the air, accounting for five total touchdowns.

The Warriors host the No. 4 seeded Grand Island Islanders in the semifinals on Nov 11 at 6 p.m.

No. 2 Gretna Dragons

Oklahoma State quarterback commit, Zane Flores, led the Dragons to a 35-23 victory over the No. 7-seeded Bellevue West Thunderbirds.
Flores passed for 149 yards on 12/17 passes and one touchdown. He also rushed 12 times for 21 yards and two touchdowns.
Gretna continues their quest for a state championship as they host No. 11 seeded Creighton Prep Junior Jays on Nov. 11 at 7 p.m.

No. 4 Grand Island Islanders

The Islanders kept their state championship hopes alive, winning 28-10 over the No. 12-seeded Millard South Patriots.
Senior quarterback Cohen Evans led the Islanders with 139 yards passing on 16/24 passes and one touchdown. Senior running back Jace Chrisman rushed 18 times for 76 yards for two touchdowns.

The Islanders go on the road to take on the No. 1 seeded Omaha Westside Warriors on Nov 11 at 6 p.m.

No. 11 Creighton Prep Junior Jays

The Junior Jays went on the road and pulled off the upset on the No. 3 seeded Elkhorn South Storm 10-3.
Senior Ezra Vedral scored the only touchdown for the Junior Jays in the first quarter. Senior running back Chamar Brown rushed 23 carries for 132 yards as well.

Creighton Prep goes on the road again to face off against the No. 2 Gretna Dragons on Nov 11 at 7 p.m.
