Everyone from 5-years-of-age to adults participated in Star City BMX’s Halloween/ Corn Cup Final race Oct. 31 at 101 Charleston St. in Lincoln. The event also included a “trunk or treat” and a pumpkin roll relay in honor of the holiday.
Star City BMX is a local nonprofit organization that focuses on the sport of bicycle motocross racing. This race was a single point race, where the race counted as two local races. There were Corn Cup awards, for those who had all of the Corn Cup qualifiers, which were a series of races from Aug. 1 to Oct. 17. Nonqualifiers received Halloween awards.
Riders and their families participated in a trunk or treat before the event. Riders dressed up in costumes and were allowed to race in them as long as they did not impede another rider.
